![]() I went with a Kent Armstrong Handwound PAF at the neck and Lollar El Rayo in the bridge. I knew I had to replace the electronics and pickups with American spec'd pots, caps, switches, and pickups. When I purchased it new in Japan in early 2012, it was the last one I could find new in the country. These byrds are hard to find these days, this one is truly one of the rarest Epiphone Byrdland's you'll ever come across. This might be the last one made.who knows? The added bonus is that the peg head has the Gibson "Dove Wing" instead of the "Tombstone" on Epiphone's they send to the US. A 2010 Epiphone Elitist Byrdland!?!?!? How is that even possible? Yes, Gibson stopped making these guitars for the US market in 2008, but Epiphone made a couple of these for the Japanese market each year through 2010. ![]()
